Online consultation for 'Inheritors of Traditional Chinese Medicine Families'? In fact, 13 people disguised themselves together and claimed to be "descendants of a traditional Chinese medicine family" with a total amount of over 1 million yuan involved in the case. The cause can be identified through online consultation, and the "exclusive secret formula" guarantees that the medicine will cure the disease? In fact, the "old traditional Chinese medicine practitioner" is a group of 13 people pretending together; What patients buy at a high price is not a "one person one prescription", but a common antibacterial ointment. The reporter learned from the press conference held by the Municipal Public Security Bureau this morning that the Shanghai police successfully destroyed an online diagnosis and treatment network fraud gang pretending to be an old Chinese doctor in the "Spring Campaign", and captured 13 suspect, involving more than 1 million yuan. In April of this year, Ms. Tang, a citizen, reported to the Qingpu Branch of the Shanghai Public Security Bureau, suspecting that she had been deceived. Ms. Tang suffers from a skin disease. Once, while browsing the internet, she saw an advertisement for treating her skin disease. In the advertisement, many people with serious skin diseases have recovered after being treated by a well-known traditional Chinese medicine practitioner. These "successful cases" have made Ms. Tang's heart skip a beat and left her contact information. Not long after, a man who claimed to be a "well-known old traditional Chinese medicine practitioner" and also a "inheritor of a traditional Chinese medicine family in a certain province" contacted Ms. Tang. The other party asked Ms. Tang to send photos of the affected area for her 'online consultation'. After a seemingly professional analysis and diagnosis, the "old Chinese medicine practitioner" recommended Ms. Tang to use the so-called "exclusive secret formula" product. Ms. Tang, who believed it to be true, paid over 2000 yuan to purchase a treatment course. However, the packaging of the medicine she received was very rough and did not show any effect after taking it. Feeling deceived, she called the police. After receiving the report, the Qingpu police discovered that the so-called "exclusive secret formula" product was actually a regular antibacterial ointment that could be purchased online for just over a hundred yuan. At the same time, the police did not verify the relevant information of this so-called "well-known traditional Chinese medicine", so they judged it as an online fraud case and immediately organized a police force to form a special investigation team to file a case. After comprehensive analysis and judgment, the police quickly identified a fraud gang entrenched in another province or city. In early May, with the cooperation of the local police, the Qingpu police launched a centralized crackdown operation and dismantled a fraud gang led by Jiang and Wei, arresting 13 members of the gang. After investigation, the suspect Jiang and Wei put drainage advertisements on various network platforms without relevant medical qualifications, pretended to be well-known Chinese medicine, and used false successful cure cases to attract patients with skin diseases to seek treatment. Afterwards, they hired 11 people including Liu and Guan as customer service representatives, added these patients point-to-point, and impersonated well-known traditional Chinese medicine practitioners to "conduct online consultations". After the patient sends photos of the affected area, Liu and others will use pre prepared fixed language to provide a "professional interpretation" of the patient's condition and promote fictional so-called successful cases to gain the patient's trust. Their ultimate goal is to lure patients into purchasing therapeutic drugs at different prices ranging from 1000 yuan to 2700 yuan using gimmicks such as "one person, one prescription" and "exclusive secret formulas". And these so-called "exclusive secret formulas" high priced drugs are actually ordinary antibacterial ointments purchased by the gang online, with a cost less than one tenth of the selling price. Moreover, all patients are using the same medication, and there is no such thing as' one person, one prescription '. After enticing patients to place orders, the criminal gang will notify the previously contacted supplier, who will directly ship the goods to the patients. At the same time, the gang also falsely claimed that "all drugs will be sent to third-party appraisal before being sent to patients" in order to dispel patients' doubts about remote shipments. At present, suspect Jiang and Wei have been detained by Qingpu police according to law for suspected fraud, and other suspect have been taken criminal coercive measures by Qingpu police according to law. The case is under further investigation. (New Society)
