The organizing committee of Pingyao International Film Exhibition (referred to as the Film Exhibition) announced on the 14th that the 9th Pingyao International Film Exhibition will be held from September 24th to 30th in Pingyao Ancient City, Jinzhong City, Shanxi Province; Starting from today, the film is being solicited globally and will continue until July 15th. To register for the film, you can log in to the official website of the film exhibition to enter the registration channel. After being selected by the program planning team led by the artistic director of the film exhibition, the registered film will have the opportunity to be screened in the official screening unit of the film exhibition; In the "Hidden Dragon" section, which is dedicated to discovering new Chinese language directors, one outstanding film will receive a cash reward of 1 million yuan (RMB), and one outstanding director will receive a cash reward of 200000 yuan. The film exhibition consists of four major sections: screening, industry, academia, and education. The screening section includes the "Sleeping Tiger" section focusing on international new directors, the "Hidden Dragon" section exploring Chinese new directors, the "Premiere" section showcasing annual important commercial films, noteworthy works, masterpieces, or selected excellent films from annual important film festivals, the "Starting from Shanxi" section aimed at promoting the development of Shanxi's film industry, and the retrospective/tribute section showcasing classic works in film history with unique perspectives and academic value that have been specially themed and planned. The Pingyao International Film Festival was founded in 2017 and is held annually in the ancient city of Pingyao, which has a history of 2800 years. It has been held eight times so far and has unearthed many excellent film works such as Wen Yan's "Carnival", Bai Xue's "Passing Spring", Huo Meng's "Passing Zhaoguan", Wang Jing's "Never Stop", Kong Dashan's "Exploration of the Universe Editorial Department", and Xu Lei's "A Bright Future", promoting many young Chinese directors to enter the public eye.
