The 5th Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area Chinese Drama Culture Festival held its opening drama evening in Macau on the 28th. This year's Drama Culture Festival will be jointly held in Macau, Hong Kong, and Guangzhou from March to May, featuring 12 distinctive plays covering various genres such as drama, children's drama, musical theater, Yue opera, Cantonese opera, etc., providing audiences with a diverse theatrical viewing experience. The opening ceremony gathers numerous artists and actors to present a stage where tradition and modernity collide. The youth of the Macau Academy for Performing Arts showcased the inheritance of Cantonese opera with "Young Eagles Spread their Wings", the musical "Young Lion" reproduced the Lingnan lion dance culture, and the Hong Kong Repertory Theatre brought a selection of "Cliff" from "The Great King"... In addition, drama into campus activities and drama exchange seminars will also be held. This year's Drama Culture Festival is hosted by the Chinese Dramatists Association, the Cultural Bureau of the Macau SAR Government, the West Kowloon Cultural District Administration of Hong Kong, and the Guangdong Federation of Literary and Art Circles. Chen Yongquan, Secretary of the Party Group and Vice Chairman of the Chinese Dramatists Association, stated that this year's Drama Culture Festival has constructed a cross temporal and spatial dialogue between tradition and modernity through the artistic matrix of the three cities' linkage. Liang Huimin, Director of the Cultural Bureau of the Macau SAR Government, stated that efforts will be made to better unite the cultural forces in Macau, deepen cultural exchanges between Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macau, and promote the prosperity of theatrical arts.
