Tashkent News: According to data released by the Uzbekistan National Statistics Committee on the 26th local time, about 1.3 million foreign tourists entered the country for tourism purposes in the first two months of this year, an increase of 361200 compared to the same period last year. Among them, there are 14000 Chinese tourists. Data shows that foreign tourists coming to Uzbekistan mainly come from neighboring Central Asian countries. Kyrgyzstan is the largest source country, with a total of 422600 tourists; Tajikistan and Kazakhstan have 401400 and 199000 people respectively, ranking second and third. In addition, the number of tourists from Russia, Turkmenistan, Türkiye, China, India and other countries also showed a steady growth trend. In recent years, Uzbekistan has continued to increase its support for the tourism industry, actively enhancing its tourism attractiveness through various measures such as simplifying visa procedures, improving infrastructure, and building the Silk Road cultural tourism brand. Since the introduction of the 10 day visa free policy for Chinese tourists, the exchange and cooperation between the two countries in the tourism field have continued to deepen, and China is gradually becoming an important emerging source market for Uzbekistan.
