On March 26th, the special work meeting of the organizing committee for the 15th National Games and the Paralympic Games was held in Guangzhou. Wang Weizhong, Executive Director of the 15th National Games Organizing Committee and the Paralympic Special Olympics Organizing Committee, and Governor of Guangdong Province, attended the meeting and delivered a speech, emphasizing the need to remember our responsibilities and missions, increase efficiency, overcome difficulties, and improve quality, and work together with Hong Kong and Macao to do our best to host the 15th National Games and the Paralympic Special Olympics. Wang Weizhong stated that hosting the 15th National Games and the Special Olympics for the Disabled is a major political task entrusted to Guangdong by General Secretary Xi Jinping and the Party Central Committee, an important opportunity to promote the construction of the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area, and a major event for the province this year. With the joint efforts of all parties, the preparatory work for the Guangdong competition area has been solidly promoted and made good progress, which deserves full recognition. There are only 228 days left until the opening of the 15th National Games. We hope that everyone will seize the preparatory work with a high sense of political responsibility and historical mission, work together with Hong Kong and Macao to carefully plan and organize, uphold the concept of "green, sharing, openness, and integrity" in organizing the Games, implement the requirements of "simplicity, safety, and excitement" in organizing the Games, and strive to make the 15th National Games and the Special Olympics for the Disabled a wonderful sports event that "demonstrates institutional advantages, showcases the characteristics of the Bay Area, and embodies Lingnan style", and not disappoint the trust and trust of the General Secretary and the Party Central Committee. Wang Weizhong emphasized the need to focus on key tasks such as competition organization, opening and closing ceremonies, torch relay, security, food safety, and the linkage between sports and economic and social development, further enhance and improve the work plan, closely integrate with the actual situation of Guangdong and the Greater Bay Area, and make the 15th National Games and the Paralympic Games distinctive and highlight. We must strictly follow the timeline to carry out venue construction and renovation, effectively ensure project quality and safety production, ensure smooth completion and acceptance, and put it into use on time. We need to accelerate the progress of market development, especially by leveraging the comprehensive advantages of cities such as Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Foshan, Dongguan, and Zhuhai, fully tapping into market potential, and accelerating the signing and implementation of sponsorship projects. Efforts should be made to promote information technology work, and to carry out preliminary survey, scheme design, construction organization, and joint debugging and testing to provide high-quality information security for the event. We should take the "five major actions" of improving the appearance, smooth transportation, health and epidemic prevention, publicity and promotion, and hidden danger investigation as the starting point to comprehensively enhance the comprehensive service capacity of the city. To fully showcase technological elements, we should focus on emerging industries such as artificial intelligence and robotics, strengthen application orientation and scenario driven development, and empower the 15th National Games and the Paralympic Games through technology. We need to closely communicate and coordinate with Hong Kong and Macao, continue to play a good role in the regular liaison mechanism among the three regions, improve the efficiency of cross regional cooperation, and plan in advance for cross-border policies such as personnel clearance, goods transportation, and capital circulation during the competition period. We should establish the concept of "running a good conference and improving a city", focus on creating an atmosphere for sports events on major urban roads, transportation hubs, landmark buildings, important commercial districts, etc., actively organize media platforms to do a good job in publicity and reporting, widely carry out mass sports and cultural activities, and ignite a nationwide sports craze throughout the province. We must make every effort to prepare for and train well, adhere to the simultaneous progress of competitive and mass events, and strive to achieve both sports performance and spiritual civilization. At the meeting, the Provincial Executive Committees of the 15th National Games and the Paralympic Games reported on the preparations for the Guangdong competition, the Guangzhou and Shenzhen competition reported on the opening and closing ceremonies, and the 17 host cities in the province reported on the preparations for their respective competitions. After the meeting, Wang Weizhong also went to the Provincial Olympic Sports Center to investigate and supervise the construction of venues.
