The 2025 Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area Youth Public Welfare Annual Conference was launched on the 22nd at the Haojiang Middle School Affiliated Talent School in Macau. At the annual meeting, with the theme of "Cultural Gathering and Public Welfare Together", students from Macau Haojiang Middle School, Chen Junyu from Zhuhai Ronghong College, and Liu Zhonglang from Hong Kong Baptist University Affiliated School Wang Jinhui Primary and Secondary School shared their experiences and insights on public welfare activities. Zhang Ziyu, a high school student, has been involved in volunteer activities since elementary school. She recalled that her most unforgettable volunteer service experience was visiting elderly people living alone in Macau for two consecutive years, accompanying them to eat and chat, and bringing them warmth. Sending roses to others leaves a lingering fragrance in my hands. While participating in volunteer activities to help others, I also gained growth and encouragement, "said Zhang Ziyu. She may just be a spark, hoping that more young people will join the volunteer team and become torches to illuminate others. Liu Zhonglang participated in on campus and off campus volunteer services multiple times this year, and in 2024, he volunteered for over 200 hours during the summer vacation. He said that volunteer activities not only convey happiness and warmth to others, but also improve his communication skills and expand his circle of friends. Volunteer work, big or small, can contribute to society. Seeing others happy, I am also very satisfied. "The annual meeting is hosted by the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation, and jointly organized by the Macau Foundation, Hong Kong Soong Ching Ling Foundation, and Guangdong Soong Ching Ling Foundation. On the day of the event, 104 public welfare projects covering 8 directions including public welfare exchange and practice, cultural inheritance, and poverty alleviation teaching assistants were simultaneously released. The project will run throughout the year, providing a broad public welfare practice platform for young people in the Greater Bay Area and helping them grow up healthily. (New Society)
