Uruguayan President elect Armando Orsi was sworn in to the Ukrainian parliament on the 1st, beginning a 5-year term. The presidential power handover ceremony was held on the same day at the Independence Square in Montevideo, photographed by Xinhua News Agency reporter Zhang Duo. Orsi signed a certificate of power transfer with former President Rachael and handed over the presidential ribbon. Orsi said at the ceremony that he will be committed to improving the country's economic level and national well-being during his tenure. Orsi also appointed a new cabinet member. A simple military parade was held on site. On March 1st, Uruguay's new president Orsi delivered a speech to the public at Independence Square in Montevideo. He entered politics in 2005 and has served as the Secretary General of the Government of Canelones Province and the Governor of Canelones Province.
