Give a thumbs up to grassroots cadres learning AI

2025-02-24

In the past few days, a news story has sparked heated discussions - the Secretary of the Binyang County Party Committee in Guangxi Province made a request to attendees at an official meeting in the county: each person must install at least two artificial intelligence software, the first being DeepSeek and the second being Bean Bun. If you have stronger abilities, you should learn more, but at least you need to know two. Interestingly, it was also in these two days that the news of Yiwu boss's wife using DeepSeek to short sell small commodities surged to the hot search list. The boss lady who only speaks Chinese can immediately transform into a "digital boss lady" who can speak 36 languages through "AI digital human" technology, and fluently promote her own products in the cyberspace. Moreover, with the support of intelligent software, as long as the boss lady says "123" in front of the camera, the system will automatically generate product introductions and copy, and not forget to match them with background music that foreign customers like, emphasizing a thoughtful approach. Intelligent products, coupled with thoughtful services, have enabled Yiwu's boss lady to expand her business worldwide. These two pieces of news, one in government and the other in business, may seem unrelated, but in reality, they have an underlying logic. When ordinary people like Yiwu business owners have already begun to transform into "digital experts" and proficiently use artificial intelligence to do business, how can grassroots cadres serving the general public be excluded from this surging wave of artificial intelligence? From this perspective, the requirements of the county party secretary are not only not excessive, but also a timely action to guide local grassroots cadres to look up at the world and actively embrace technological changes. It is a self supervision and self motivation that deserves praise. Today, AI appears to be a powerful auxiliary tool. Grassroots cadres bear the specific responsibility of serving the masses, and are good at learning and using AI as a tool, which can significantly improve the quality of public services and enhance the sense of gain and happiness of the masses. For example, in urban governance, AI can accurately predict traffic congestion and plan diversion plans in advance through data analysis; In judicial trials, AI can intelligently identify and extract criminal facts and sentencing circumstances, automatically push related laws and similar cases, automatically recommend sentencing based on historical sentencing data, assist judges in making accurate and efficient judgments, greatly reducing the workload of judicial staff... In various fields such as urban management, grassroots governance, disaster prevention and control, meteorological forecasting, public safety, etc., AI can almost provide the "strongest brain" of intelligent assistance. For grassroots cadres themselves, being good at using AI can also reduce repetitive labor, improve work efficiency, and allow them to focus their limited energy on more valuable work. At the beginning of this year, 70 AI data intelligence employees based on DeepSeek were the first to take up their positions in Shenzhen, known as the "Capital of Innovation". It is said to be a digital employee, but in fact, it is a customized personalized intelligent agent. They undertake repetitive tasks in specific business scenarios, such as generating law enforcement documents, batch processing documents, writing weekly and daily reports, etc. This helps to alleviate the troubles of filling out forms and the pain of writing materials at the grassroots level, freeing them from complex affairs and providing a new way of thinking to reduce the burden on the grassroots. Of course, promoting grassroots cadres to learn AI does not mean demanding that they all become technology experts, which is unrealistic and unnecessary. In fact, at the current level of intelligence, AI can often only serve as an auxiliary tool in public management and social services, providing an intelligent advisor. However, this intelligent tool can cross the "digital divide" at a low cost, allowing grassroots cadres, especially those in the central and western regions, to think, make decisions, and handle tasks more scientifically, comprehensively, and rationally. It is worth noting that grassroots cadres learning to use AI software must attach great importance to public data security and privacy protection, which is also an important test in the development process of AI. A county may have millions or tens of thousands of people, and any department or office in the county may have access to the private data of the entire population. In this regard, grassroots cadres should first establish a high level of confidentiality awareness, guard the bottom line and red line of data security, and avoid incidents of AI leakage. In the process of organizing relevant training in various regions, it is particularly important to pay attention to the rules in advance to prevent problems before they arise. (New Society)
