Poland develops military quantum computer

2025-02-20

According to foreign media reports, Poland is developing its first military quantum computer to enhance encryption and data analysis capabilities. Quantum computers have the potential to create secure communication channels, as any attempt to intercept data transmission can alter the quantum state and be detected. In addition, quantum computers can optimize complex logistical tasks, including supply chain management, troop deployment, and resource allocation. By utilizing quantum algorithms, quantum computers can enhance battlefield environments, weapon system simulation training, and improve surveillance, reconnaissance, and decision-making capabilities. According to reports, the project is jointly promoted by Warsaw University of Technology, Military Technical University, and Military Weapon Technology Research Institute, with funding from the Polish National Research and Development Center. The first military quantum computer prototype is expected to be developed later this year and will use independently developed software and hardware as much as possible. (New Society)
