The Hong Kong Chinese Enterprises Association held its 2025 New Year's Eve reception in Hong Kong on the 14th. Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam stated at the reception that Chinese enterprises are an important force in promoting Hong Kong's economic development. Li Jiachao stated in his speech that last year, the parent company had 9960 overseas or mainland companies stationed in Hong Kong, setting a new historical high. Among them, 2620 enterprises come from mainland China, accounting for over 26%, making it the largest source of foreign companies stationed in Hong Kong, demonstrating the strength of Chinese enterprises and their positive role in the economic development of Hong Kong. He hopes that all Chinese funded enterprises will continue to support and participate in the development of the northern metropolitan area. Zheng Yanxiong, Director of the Liaison Office of the Central Government in Hong Kong, expressed in his speech that he hopes Chinese enterprises can make good use of Hong Kong's unique advantages of "relying on the motherland and connecting with the world", continue to increase investment in Hong Kong, continuously optimize business layout, actively participate in the construction of the northern metropolitan area, fully support Hong Kong in consolidating its position as a financial, shipping, and trade center, building an international innovation and technology center, and supporting Hong Kong to better integrate into the overall development of the country. Wang Haimin, President of the Hong Kong China Enterprise Association, stated that Hong Kong's stability, harmony, and vibrant vitality have inspired and uplifted the business community, including Chinese enterprises. The Chinese Enterprises Association will continue to actively respond to the call of the SAR government, unite the vast number of Chinese funded enterprises, root in Hong Kong, and serve Hong Kong. This reception was attended by more than 1000 people from the central government agencies stationed in Hong Kong, the Hong Kong SAR government, the Legislative Council, the judiciary, and various sectors of Hong Kong society.
