At the invitation of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, a preaching team composed of the Ministry of Education and the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council held a preaching conference in Hong Kong on the 12th, allowing people from all walks of life in Hong Kong to deeply understand the important significance of the "Outline of the Plan for Building an Education Strong Country (2024-2035)" (hereinafter referred to as the "Outline"). The outline presentation was held at the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government Headquarters on the same day, with Vice Minister of Education Wu Yan as the keynote speaker. At the beginning of this year, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council issued the "Outline of the Plan for Building an Education Strong Country (2024-2035)". The Outline is the first national action plan with the theme of making education powerful and the important task of comprehensively serving the construction of Chinese path to modernization. It clearly proposes to build an integrated promotion mechanism for education, science and technology talents, strengthen the supporting role of education on science and technology and talents, closely connect with the construction of scientific and technological innovation center, high-level talent highland and talent attraction platform in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area, and improve the overall efficiency of the innovation system. At the lecture, Wu Yan gave a comprehensive and systematic explanation of the confidence, goals, and tasks of building an education powerhouse. Wu Yan emphasized that he hopes Hong Kong can leverage its special advantages of being backed by the motherland and connected to the world, further deepen educational exchanges with the mainland, especially to deeply integrate into the construction of the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area International Science and Technology Innovation Center, comprehensive national science center, and high-level talent highland, and make important contributions to building an education powerhouse. The Chief Secretary for Administration of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) Government, Chen Guoji, stated in his speech that the SAR Government has been actively creating favorable development opportunities for talents from different backgrounds, promoting the coordinated development of talent cultivation, talent exchange, and technology, and contributing to the high-quality development of Hong Kong and even the country. Cai Ruolian, Director of the Education Bureau of the Special Administrative Region Government, said in her speech that in the next decade, with the rapid development of national education, Hong Kong's education will also usher in a golden age.
