On the 11th, Shanxi Provincial Institute of Archaeology released the archaeological excavation data of the Han tomb in Zhengcun, Taiyuan, Shanxi. It is preliminarily speculated that the M2 era is from the Wang Mang period to the early Eastern Han Dynasty, and the unearthed "Four Gods" Danglu is quite distinctive. From July to November 2022, in order to cooperate with the construction project of the new hospital of the Second People's Hospital of Shanxi Province, Taiyuan Cultural Relics Protection and Research Institute carried out salvage archaeological excavation work in Zheng Village, southeast of Taiyuan City. Through archaeological excavations, a total of 23 tombs from various periods have been cleared. The tomb site numbered M2 is the only brick chamber tomb. Although the tomb was damaged, a batch of pottery, bronze, lead, glassware, and other artifacts were unearthed. Zhengcun M2 is a brick chamber tomb with a sloping tomb passage, consisting of a tomb passage, tomb door, front chamber, and rear chamber. Fifteen burial objects were unearthed. Among them, one of the items, Danglu, is well preserved with exquisite craftsmanship. The front depicts the three gods of the "Four Gods", from left to right, namely Xuanwu, Baihu, and Zhuque. Long Zhen, the leader of the archaeological excavation project, introduced that based on the shape, combination and characteristics of the burial objects, it is preliminarily speculated that the age of the tomb is from the Wang Mang period to the early Eastern Han Dynasty. This provides important information for in-depth research on the production and lifestyle, technological level, ideological consciousness, burial customs and systems of the people in Taiyuan area during the Han Dynasty.
