The Palace Museum in Hong Kong announced on the 13th that it will launch four new special exhibitions and three new thematic exhibitions in 2025, covering the museum's collections, ancient world civilizations, and its latest collections. The first touring exhibition of the Palace Museum's collections will be held in Beijing. It is reported that this year, the Hong Kong Palace Museum and the Palace Museum will jointly present three new thematic exhibitions and special exhibitions, showcasing the cultural charm of the Palace Museum that carries the 5000 year Chinese civilization. As one of the key programs of Hong Kong's "Art March 2025", the Palace Museum of Hong Kong will present a special exhibition "A Moving Feast - Chinese Food Culture", showcasing over 110 precious cultural relics to lead the audience to appreciate the food culture and lifestyle of ancient Chinese people. In terms of special exhibitions, the museum will launch the "Hong Kong Jockey Club Presentation Series: Improving Military Equipment - Qing Dynasty Military Relics from the Palace Museum Collection" exhibition, which will showcase about 190 Qing Dynasty palace military relics from the Palace Museum collection to enhance the audience's understanding of Qing Dynasty military culture. In November, the museum will also launch a special exhibition showcasing nearly 250 precious collections from seven important Egyptian museums, including the National Museum of Egypt and the Luxor Museum, as well as the latest important archaeological discoveries from the Sakara large cemetery near Cairo. In addition, the Hong Kong Palace Museum will hold its first touring exhibition at the Palace Museum in November, showcasing the museum's Dream Butterfly Pavilion collection of ancient gold artifacts. Wu Zhihua, curator of the Palace Museum of Culture in Hong Kong, said that a series of wonderful exhibitions reflected the museum's commitment to demonstrating the richness and outstanding traditions of Chinese art and culture, and promoting the vision of dialogue with global civilizations. As we enter the new year, the museum will further collaborate with important cultural institutions around the world to plan world-class exhibitions. It is reported that since its opening in July 2022, the Hong Kong Palace Museum of Culture has held over 20 special and thematic exhibitions, showcasing treasures from the Palace Museum, the Hong Kong Palace Museum of Culture, and other important cultural institutions around the world, attracting nearly 3 million visitors.
