The Hong Kong 2024 Honours and Awards Ceremony will be held on the 23rd at the banquet hall of Government House in Hong Kong. Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam presented honors and certificates to the recipients at the ceremony. The list of honours and awards has been previously announced, and the recipients come from different social classes and backgrounds, making significant contributions to Hong Kong and benefiting various fields and sectors of society. This year, a total of five people were awarded the highest honor in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region's honours and awards system, the Grand Bauhinia Medal. They are non official members of the Executive Council and Legislative Council of the Special Administrative Region, Liao Changjiang; consultant of the National Hong Kong and Macao Studies Association, Liu Zhaojia; director of the Rao Zongyi Academic Hall at the University of Hong Kong, Li Zhuofen; chairman of Henderson Land Development Group, Li Jiajie; and honorary chairman of the Hong Kong Fujian Federation of Societies, Lin Shuzhe. In addition, 12 people received the Golden Bauhinia Star Medal; 24 people received the Silver Bauhinia Star Medal; 1 person was posthumously awarded the Silver Medal of Bravery (to be claimed by family members); 14 individuals received the Medal of Excellence from the disciplinary forces and the Independent Commission Against Corruption; 40 people received the Bronze Bauhinia Star Medal; 46 people received honorary medals from disciplinary forces and the Independent Commission Against Corruption; 105 people received the Medal of Honor; More than 200 people received the Chief Executive's certificate. Li Jiachao expressed sincere gratitude and congratulations to all the award winners, and hoped that they would continue to fully demonstrate their strengths and serve society in their respective fields.
