The 4th Beijing Tianjin Hebei Long Triangle Pearl River Delta Museum Alliance Conference and Academic Seminar was recently held in Tianjin. Nearly 70 museums from the Beijing Tianjin Hebei, Yangtze River Delta, and Pearl River Delta regions, along with 120 museum managers and related professionals, gathered together to promote cultural heritage and development, and discuss the future of museums. The reporter learned from the meeting that the membership of the "Beijing Tianjin Hebei, Yangtze River Delta, and Pearl River Delta Museum Alliance" has increased to 168. At the opening ceremony, Luo Wenli, a member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director of the National Cutural Heritage Administration, said that Beijing Tianjin Hebei, Yangtze River Delta and Pearl River Delta regions are economically developed and rich in cultural and museum resources. As of the end of 2023, there are a total of 1969 museums, accounting for nearly 30% of the total number of museums in the country. Among them, there are 466 national first, second, and third level museums, 121 first level museums, 180 second level museums, and 165 third level museums. The three regional museum alliances embody the collective wisdom and creativity of museum personnel. We hope to take this conference as an opportunity to work together, enhance the supply capacity of high-quality public culture, strengthen resource integration, accelerate resource flow, enhance mechanism innovation, expand external exchanges and cooperation, and promote the high-quality development of the museum industry. The conference announced the list of new members of the "Beijing Tianjin Hebei, Yangtze River Delta, and Pearl River Delta Museum Alliance", and 48 cultural and museum units from the Beijing Tianjin Hebei, Yangtze River Delta, and Pearl River Delta officially joined the alliance, bringing the number of alliance members to 168 and further expanding its radiation and influence. All member units will work together to promote cultural inheritance and development towards a higher level. At the seminar, Professor An Laishun from Shanghai University, Chairman of the Asia Pacific Alliance of the International Association of Museums, and 9 guests from museums in the Beijing Tianjin Hebei, Yangtze River Delta, and Pearl River Delta regions gave keynote speeches on the theme of "Promoting Cultural Heritage and Discussing the Future of Museums". In the sub forum discussion, all attending representatives engaged in high-level and in-depth exchanges and discussions from three aspects: "Museums and Cultural Heritage", "Museums and Public Services", and "Museums and Cultural Creativity". The conference showcased the unique cultural heritage practices of the three museums in the alliance, clarified the ways and directions of linkage and collaborative development among the alliances, and reached many consensuses. This conference is guided by the Tianjin Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism (Tianjin Municipal Bureau of Cultural Relics) and hosted by the Tianjin Museum and the Tianjin Cultural Relics Museum Society.
