Hong Kong hosts' Ma Teng Sheng Shi 'drone performance to welcome National Day

2024-09-29

On the night of the 28th, about 1500 drones lit up the sky over Victoria Harbour, and a beautiful picture of shimmering colors slowly unfolded. The Hong Kong Tourism Board held a 15 minute "Hong Kong Magotan Prosperity" themed drone performance at the Wan Chai waterfront that evening to welcome the arrival of the National Day holiday. Using night as a curtain and light as a pen. At around 8 pm that evening, accompanied by the singing of "The Pearl of the Orient", a drone took off from the Wan Chai waterfront in Hong Kong, vividly depicting the magnificent development process of Hong Kong from a small fishing village to an international metropolis: the Star Ferry drifted on the "sea surface", and the "ding ding" sound of the "ding ding" car slowly moved forward. Patterns full of Hong Kong characteristics such as fishing villages came to life, allowing the audience to feel the infinite charm of "The Pearl of the Orient". On September 28th, Hong Kong held the "Hong Kong Ma Teng Sheng Shi" drone performance to welcome the arrival of National Day. The same scene from the movie "Fortress Besieged in Kowloon" slowly appears, and the scenes of citizens watching planes flying overhead on the rooftops of the fortress are restored one by one. Amidst the interplay of light and shadow, the perfect fusion of technology and nature drew cheers from the audience on site. Subsequently, patterns inspired by the four paintings of Xu Beihong were first presented over Victoria Harbour, expressing good wishes for the prosperity and development of the country and Hong Kong. A majestic lion leaps onto the paper, with a majestic momentum. This scene is inspired by Xu Beihong's 1934 work "New Life Comes to Life", symbolizing the "Lion Rock Spirit" of Hong Kong's generations of hard work, diligence, adaptability, and self-improvement. Immediately afterwards, a galloping horse appeared in the audience's view, showing endless vitality. This scene is inspired by Xu Beihong's 1942 work "Flying in the Sky", wishing Hong Kong to move forward like a thousand miles of horses and strive towards a prosperous future. The sound of horse hooves is powerful and resounding. Six horses advanced in unison in the night sky, unstoppable. The drone lights vividly outline the majestic momentum of the herd of horses... This scene is based on Xu Beihong's work "Running in the Crowd", where drones dance in the night sky, allowing the audience to feel the power of the horses and convey the joy of the upcoming National Day holiday. In the night sky, a Bauhinia flower shines brightly in Victoria Harbour, inspired by Xu Beihong's work "Bauhinia Flower". The meaning is that Hong Kong is as colorful and vibrant as the Bauhinia flower, expressing good wishes for Hong Kong's prosperity, stability, beauty, and harmony. On September 28th, Hong Kong held the "Hong Kong Ma Teng Sheng Shi" drone performance to welcome the arrival of National Day. As the lights and positions changed, the drones continued to form words such as "Celebrating National Day" and "75th Anniversary" in the air, attracting praise from the audience and raising their phones to capture this beautiful moment. While the live audience was still immersed in this visual feast, the appearance of the "Easter egg" once again sparked a climax. Wow! It's a panda! "Exclaimed the on-site tourists, as the drone pieced together six giant pandas in the night sky, continuing to convey the joy of welcoming pandas throughout the city. The drone moved gently, and the adorable giant panda seemed to be interacting with the audience on site, with every movement touching their hearts. A visual feast that perfectly integrates technology and art embellishes the night sky of Victoria Harbour with special charm. The fleet slowly descended, and applause and cheers filled the air. The two sides of Victoria Harbour turned into a sea of joy, and many people were reluctant to leave for a long time. This is the first time I have seen Xu Beihong's works presented in the form of drones. Digital technology has made history and culture within reach, and it has also allowed me to spend an unforgettable night Mr. Yang, a Hong Kong citizen, said excitedly. (New Society)
