The three-day 5th "the Belt and Road" Tax Collection and Management Cooperation Forum closed in Hong Kong on the 26th. The forum has completed various agendas, reached a series of consensus, and achieved nine important results. It is understood that the nine important achievements of the forum include the Joint Statement of the Fifth "the Belt and Road" Tax Collection and Management Cooperation Forum, the Hong Kong Action Plan (2025-2027), the Maldives Tax Bureau becoming a new member of the Council, the establishment of the "the Belt and Road" Tax Academy · Algiers, the Report of the Working Group on Improving Tax Certainty (2022-2024), the Report of the Working Group on Promoting the Informatization of Tax Collection and Management (2022-2024), the Report of the Working Group on Optimizing the Tax Business Environment (2022-2024), the Report on the Work of the "the Belt and Road" Tax Collection and Management Capacity Promotion Alliance (2022-2024) and the the Belt and Road "Annual Report of Tax Collection and Management Cooperation Mechanism (2024)". In his speech, Tan Dapeng, Director of the Taxation Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, stated that the consensus and achievements reached at this forum will effectively enhance the construction of tax collection and management capabilities of all parties, and contribute more to global economic tax governance. At the closing ceremony, it was also announced that the sixth and seventh forums would be held in Nepal and Indonesia respectively. During this forum, more than 500 representatives from the tax departments of nearly 50 countries and regions, 13 international organizations and more than 40 Chinese and foreign multinational enterprises discussed many issues such as improving tax certainty, optimizing the tax business environment, and strengthening the tax collection and management capacity building around the theme of "deepening cooperation in tax collection and management, providing high-quality services, and jointly building the the Belt and Road".
