The investment promotion conference, hosted by the Zhuhai Municipal Government in Guangdong Province, with the theme of "Building a New Economic and Trade Corridor for the Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge and Supporting the Coordinated Development of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao", was held on the 13th at the AsiaWorld Expo in Hong Kong, and 20 signed projects were reached. The conference aims to fully showcase the achievements of jointly building the Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge Economic and Trade New Channel, further consolidate consensus among all parties, share development opportunities, and launch a number of industrial investment projects and industrial policies. Liao Zhenxin, Acting Director of the Transport and Logistics Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, said in his speech that Hong Kong and Zhuhai have always been mutually beneficial and complementary in terms of economy. Zhuhai is the core city on the west bank of the the Pearl River Estuary, an important advanced manufacturing base in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area, a logistics distribution center on the west bank of the the Pearl River Estuary, and has the advantage of "one bridge connecting three places" of the Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge. Mayor Huang Zhihao of Zhuhai Municipal People's Government shared with the attendees the achievements and development opportunities of the construction of the Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge Economic and Trade New Channel from the perspectives of bridge traffic and pedestrian flow, customs clearance service efficiency, and import and export of goods. He stated that since the beginning of this year, an average of over 14000 vehicles have entered and exited the Zhuhai Highway Port via the Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge every day. Zhang Jinsong, Director of the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province, delivered a speech stating that after several years of efforts, the Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge has become an important channel for people, goods, and trade between Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao. He called on enterprises to go to the field and experience firsthand the vibrant economic vitality brought by the new economic and trade channels, seeking to create more opportunities for industrial development and business cooperation. At this promotion conference, about 400 guests attended, including representatives from relevant departments of the Central People's Government stationed in Hong Kong and Macao, government departments of the Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Regions, key enterprises in cross-border e-commerce and logistics, cultural tourism and other fields at home and abroad, as well as representatives from multinational companies stationed in Hong Kong.
