The "Shanghai Cultural Week" jointly organized by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, the Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, and the China Shanghai International Arts Festival Center was recently held at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre. Yang Runxiong, Director of the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech, stating that Hong Kong, as a center for cultural and artistic exchanges between China and foreign countries, shoulders the mission of connecting China and foreign countries, and takes on the responsibility of promoting traditional Chinese culture to the world. The Special Administrative Region government established the Office for Promoting Chinese Culture this year, held the first "Chinese Culture Festival", and made Shanghai the focus city of the cultural festival. Shanghai and Hong Kong are important hubs for contemporary cultural exchange in the country. The two cities visit each other and hold cultural weeks to showcase their profound cultural connotations and promote innovative cooperation through integration and exchange. The opening program of Shanghai Peking Opera House is "Wulong Theater".
