2024-08-06
The Immigration Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government held the opening ceremony of its new headquarters in Tseung Kwan O on the 3rd. The new headquarters was officially put into use on June 11th, providing services to the public. On the same day, the Chief Secretary for Administration of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, Chan Kwok ki, attended the ceremony and delivered a speech, stating that during his tenure as Director of Immigration, he had in-depth discussions with colleagues from the Immigration Department and the Property Agency of the SAR Government, and ultimately chose to build a new headquarters for the Immigration Department in Tseung Kwan O. The new headquarters is located near MTR Tseung Kwan O Station and Tiu Keng Leng Station, and is also connected to various public transportation modes, which is believed to facilitate the use of immigration services by the public. Chen Guoji stated that relocating the headquarters is not an easy task. The Immigration Department must work together and be meticulous in designing, preparing, and executing the relocation plan to ensure that all services and work of the department are not affected by the relocation. The smooth operation of the new headquarters owes a great deal to the colleagues at the immigration department. He emphasized that with the changing times, the responsibilities and services provided by the immigration department are also increasing day by day. We hope that the Immigration Department will continue to implement the four "good" words in its work, namely consolidating and maintaining the national security barrier, unleashing the spirit of innovation and breakthrough, promoting the economic development of Hong Kong, and integrating into the overall development of the country. Director of Immigration Guo Junfeng thanked everyone for witnessing the historic moment of the Immigration Department in his speech. He stated that the headquarters of the Immigration Department consists of two buildings, the "Administrative Building" and the "Law Enforcement Building", representing the image of the Immigration Department's emphasis on both service and law enforcement, symbolizing the department's firm commitment to serving the public and maintaining the stability and prosperity of the country and Hong Kong.
