Officials from relevant departments of the SAR government emphasized that they will continue to promote national security, establish a national security exhibition hall, and cultivate regional mentors. Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Leung Chun ying, stated in a written speech on the same day that national security is a prerequisite for social survival and development, and the whole society needs to work together to promote the importance of national security. He called on citizens to work together as guardians of national security. Leung Chun ying stated that national security is closely related to citizens. Only in a peaceful and stable environment can society and economy have the opportunity to develop, citizens can live and work in peace, and the next generation can grow up healthy. As a gateway for international openness, Hong Kong hopes that its citizens will remain vigilant and distinguish right from wrong in safeguarding national security, and strive to tell the story of "One Country, Two Systems" well. The Secretary for Security of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, Deng Bingqiang, stated in his speech that the "Maintenance of National Security Ordinance" officially came into effect in March this year, marking the completion of Hong Kong's constitutional responsibility to legislate Article 23 of the Basic Law and the improvement of relevant legal systems and enforcement mechanisms. However, national security risks still exist, and he called on everyone not to take them lightly. Deng Bingqiang stated that in the future, the SAR government will continue to promote national security, including setting up a national security exhibition hall, cultivating regional mentors to promote national security education, and so on.
