Gansu is one of the important birthplaces of the Chinese nation and Chinese civilization, with a long history, splendid culture, and abundant resources. For many years, Lanzhou University has continuously held educational and cultural exchange activities for young people from both sides of the Taiwan Strait and Hong Kong and Macao, such as the "Cultural Heritage Friendship Ambassador Study Camp" and the "Silk Road Ethnic Community Visit Program Practice Course", providing a platform for young people to appreciate the profound historical culture and rich ethnic culture of our country. According to Lanzhou University, this year marks the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the Lanzhou University Cultural Traveler Youth Program. Over the past 15 years, more than 6000 young cultural practitioners have gone deep into the western part of China to conduct investigations and research, volunteer services, policy advocacy, and cultural exchanges with ethnic culture as the theme, achieving fruitful results. Young students have gained a sense of culture, tempered their spirit, cultivated a sense of historical mission, and cultural confidence through their services. Cao Hong, Vice President of Lanzhou University, said that she hopes to use the platform of "Cultural Practitioners Study and Research" to support more young students to enter the western part of China, and jointly promote young people to become guardians, inheritors, and innovators of Chinese culture through inspection, learning, training, and innovation and entrepreneurship. Over the years, Lanzhou University has collaborated with 55 universities in Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan to establish a series of educational and cultural exchange activity brands such as the "Cultural Heritage Friendship Ambassador Study Camp," "Silk Road Ethnic Community Visit Program," and "Young Students Holding Hands on the Silk Road Tour," attracting and receiving a large number of young students from Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan to come and study in Gansu. There are countless cultural highlights in Gansu, which has become a dream destination for all cultural practitioners Liu Zhiming, Director of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the Gansu Provincial Government, stated that this cultural traveler study and research activity not only enhances dialogue, exchange, recognition, and understanding between young people from Hong Kong, Macao, and mainland China, but also strengthens the national and ethnic pride of the younger generation. It also helps to explore broader, more sustainable, and pragmatic exchanges and cooperation between universities in Gansu and Hong Kong and Macao, providing more learning and exchange platforms and entrepreneurial development opportunities for young people from Gansu, Hong Kong, and Macao.
