The results of the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination for 2024 were announced on the 17th. Among the more than 40000 high school students in Hong Kong this year, over 40% achieved the minimum admission requirements for Hong Kong universities. The Chief Executive of the Special Administrative Region, Li Jiachao, encourages candidates to continue working hard and create a better future. The Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination, which is equivalent to the mainland's college entrance examination, has about 49000 candidates taking the exam this year, including more than 6200 self-study students in addition to current high school graduates. In terms of academic performance, the Chinese, English, and mathematics of current students have all improved compared to last year. For the first time this year, 94.1% of the candidates in the Civil and Social Development subject achieved the standard score. On the same day, Li Jiachao expressed on social media to fresh graduates that regardless of their grades, the future is full of opportunities.
