The 34th Hong Kong Book Fair opened on the 17th at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. The annual theme of this book fair is "Film and Television Literature", and over 600 cultural activities will be held both inside and outside the venue. During the opening ceremony, the President of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, Fang Shunwen, stated that the Council is committed to promoting Hong Kong's business development through hosting large-scale exhibitions and events, injecting vitality into the Hong Kong economy, and consolidating Hong Kong's reputation as the capital of Asian events. This book fair invites over 250 Chinese language writers, foreign language writers, and celebrity speakers to give lectures in person, promoting literary exchange and meeting friends through books. This year's Hong Kong Book Fair will present eight lecture series, including "Annual Theme" and "Famous Writers", and invite authors and readers from all over the world to share and exchange ideas. The "Famous Writers Lecture Series" will invite many writers such as Su Tong and Jin Yucheng to participate in the cultural event of the book fair. The beloved "Literary Gallery" features sections for "Annual Theme Recommended Writers," "Focus Directors," and "Classic Adapted Film and Television Works," showcasing recommended authors' works, script manuscripts, storyboards, stills, posters, as well as original short stories, stills, and selected movie clips of classic adapted film and television works. In the "World Culture and Art Gallery" exhibition area, the organizers have set up an interactive map to showcase the filming locations and related film and television works, attracting many citizens to experience them. Ms. Chen, a Hong Kong citizen, came to visit the exhibition with her 10-year-old son. She said, "On a hot summer day, taking your child to the book fair and leisurely 'nailing books', slowly choosing your favorite, is simply a pleasure." This year's book fair will continue to have exhibition halls in mainland China, and for the first time, Beijing will be used as the theme city, with the theme of "Beijing Hong Kong Joining Hands to Build Dreams, Painting the Book Fragrance Together", showcasing themed, literary, social science and other books and cultural and creative products rich in Beijing's historical and cultural characteristics and achievements in the new era, as well as holding a series of cultural activities such as Beijing's intangible cultural heritage exhibition, new book launch conference, and Beijing Hong Kong literary dialogue.
