According to statistics from the Transport and Logistics Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, since the implementation of the "Hong Kong Vehicles Going North" policy on July 1 last year, more than 60000 Hong Kong single license private cars have completed applications and are eligible to travel through the Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge with valid permits. The Transport and Logistics Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government submitted a document to the Transport Committee of the Legislative Council on the 21st, stating that the government has been committed to implementing and promoting multiple cross-border travel measures to accelerate economic integration and connectivity in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area. Since the implementation of "Hong Kong vehicles heading north", the usage of the Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge has repeatedly reached new highs. In May this year, the two-way traffic flow of the bridge was about 360000 vehicles, with a daily average of about 12000 vehicles, an increase of about 120% compared to the same period last year; Among them, "Hong Kong vehicles heading north" accounts for about 36% of the daily traffic flow of the bridge. In terms of the regular quota for private cars in Hong Kong and Macau, the Hong Kong and Macau SAR governments have agreed to further increase the quota, including 5000 Hong Kong quotas, and distribute them in stages according to demand and implementation. In order to further utilize the Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge and promote the flow of people between Hong Kong and Macao, the Hong Kong SAR government is considering allocating a portion of the new quota, which will be open to all permanent residents and registered companies in Hong Kong to apply for.
