The 16th Youth National Knowledge Competition Finals and Awards Ceremony, hosted by the National Education (Macau) Association, was held in Macau on the 6th. Macau Haojiang Middle School, Macau Peidao Middle School, and University of Macau won two high school and one university group championships respectively. This year's competition has attracted nearly 15000 students from 32 high schools and universities in Macau to participate, setting a new record for the number of participants. Haojiang Middle School, Peidao Middle School, and University of Macau each won in their respective groups. Jingping School, Haojiang High School Affiliated Talent School, and Macau Polytechnic University won the runner up title; Tongshantang Middle School, Macau Fangzhong School, and Macau Tourism University won third place. Zhang Hongyun, a student at Macau Polytechnic University, expressed that through participating in the competition, she deeply felt the importance and sense of mission of protecting green mountains and rivers and building an ecological China. She gained a clearer and more comprehensive understanding of new energy development and other aspects, which stimulated her patriotism and love for Macau in her heart. According to the competition arrangement, the school representatives who have won the top three will go to Zhejiang for a four-day visit and exchange during the summer vacation, visiting government agencies and science and technology innovation enterprises to learn about the "Two Mountains" concept and national knowledge, broaden their horizons, and practice the educational concept of "unity of knowledge and action". The competition is organized by the National Education (Macau) Association, guided by the Education and Youth Work Department of the Macau Liaison Office, the News and Public Affairs Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Macau, and supported by the Environmental Protection Bureau, Education and Youth Development Bureau of the Macau Special Administrative Region Government, and the Macau Chinese Education Association.
