Yang Gensi Company was a Red Army company born in the revolutionary old area of eastern Fujian. During the Korean War, the then company commander Yang Gensi issued a heroic declaration of "not believing in unfinished tasks, not believing in insurmountable difficulties, and not believing in invincible enemies". He died together with the enemy in battle and made heroic sacrifices. The Chinese People's Volunteer Army posthumously honored Yang Gensi with the title of "Special Hero" and named his company "Yang Gensi Company". The platoon was recognized as a "model unit for the whole army to practice the goal of building a strong military", and was honored with 1 great merit, 5 first-class merits, 14 second-class merits, and 22 third class merits. After being publicized and reported, the advanced deeds of Yang Gensi Company in a certain composite brigade of the army have sparked a warm response throughout society. The vast majority of cadres, masses, and young students believe that "Yanggensi Company" is an advanced model that resolutely listens to the Party's command and is determined to strive for a strong military. It is a prominent representative of implementing the heroic declaration of "three distrusts" and comprehensively improving the ability to win. It is a pioneer of the times who insists on building and strengthening branches on the company, and faithfully fulfilling missions. At the release ceremony of the "Role Model of the Times", the decision of the Central Propaganda Department of the Communist Party of China to award the title of "Yang Gensi Company" and "Role Model of the Times" to a certain composite brigade of the army was read out, and a short film reflecting the advanced deeds of the brigade was played. The responsible comrade of the Central Propaganda Department presented the "Role Model of the Times" medal and certificate to the group representatives.
