The Entrepreneur Conference, one of the supporting activities of the 6th Ministerial Conference of the China Portugal Forum, was held in Macau on the 23rd. Nearly 700 representatives from various sectors, including those from mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau, as well as 9 Portuguese speaking countries, attended the meeting, focusing on promoting new trends in digital transformation and sharing new opportunities for green development. Guo Tingting, Deputy Minister of Commerce of China, stated at the meeting that the construction of the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area is currently deepening, and progress has been made in the construction of the Hengqin Guangdong Macao Deep Cooperation Zone, bringing more new opportunities for China Portugal economic and trade cooperation. The Ministry of Commerce will support Macau in continuing to play its role as a "liaison" between China and Portuguese speaking countries. The Director of the Economic and Financial Department of the Macao Special Administrative Region Government, Li Weinong, stated that since the beginning of this year, the construction of the Shenzhen Cooperation Zone has been further accelerated, creating more favorable conditions for the construction of the China Portugal International Trade Center in the zone. The new model of Macao Qin linkage development, which includes "Macao platform+international resources+Hengqin space+achievement sharing," will also be further demonstrated. Zhang Shaogang, Vice President of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, believes that China and the business community of Portuguese speaking countries can deepen cooperation in three directions: the business community of Portuguese speaking countries can deeply connect with the mainland Chinese market through the Macau platform; Strengthen exchanges in emerging fields such as digital transformation and green economy, and lead new trends in industrial cooperation; Fully leverage the role of trade promotion agencies and create a new platform for pragmatic cooperation. The conference held two special seminars and conducted nearly 70 paired negotiations, arranging 15 project signatures. "We have seen many Portuguese speaking companies sign agreements with Chinese institutions, which will provide them with more business opportunities," said Qu Weishi, Chairman of the Macau Branch of the Portuguese China Chamber of Commerce. Li Xiaoyang, the legal representative of the Guangdong Entrepreneur Cooperation and Development Promotion Association, said that he learned about the needs and willingness of the industry in Portuguese speaking countries through the conference. Some countries had little contact with them before, and he was "happy to meet and make friends with heavyweight business people from these countries.". The Entrepreneurship Conference is jointly hosted by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the Macao Special Administrative Region Government's Trade and Investment Promotion Bureau, co organized by the Permanent Secretariat of the China Portuguese Speaking Countries Forum on Economic and Trade Cooperation (Macau), and supported by the China Portuguese Speaking Countries Entrepreneurship Federation and relevant organizations from 9 Portuguese speaking countries.
