Recently, 30 "craftsmen" from military equipment support teams, equipment repair factories, and military industry group companies were awarded the title of "National Technical Expert" by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security of China, and were honored with the highest honor in the field of national skilled talents. The "craftsmen" who were commended this time are all the winners of the National Industry Vocational Skills Competition - "Craftsmanship Cup" Equipment Maintenance Vocational Skills Competition. This competition is jointly organized by the Equipment Development Department of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security of the People's Republic of China. It was held in Chengdu, Sichuan in September 2021, with 354 military and civilian athletes competing on the same stage, competing for the championship in non-destructive testing, welding, equipment assembly and adjustment, additive manufacturing, CNC vehicles, and industrial robot system operations. In the end, the top 5 of the 6 events won this honor, including 7 members from the military maintenance and support team and 13 members from the military repair factory 10 people from the Military Industry Group Company. It is reported that holding the "Craftsmanship Cup" Equipment Maintenance Vocational Skills Competition is a practical measure to implement the decision-making and deployment of the Party Central Committee on skilled talent work, an important lever to accelerate the construction of the military equipment maintenance and support skilled talent team, and an effective carrier to improve equipment maintenance and support capabilities during peacetime and wartime. The competition follows the competition mode of "practical combat, practical training, practical installation, and practical repair", and adopts a mixed military civilian approach of military personnel and equipment repair factories, as well as military industry group participants. This fully reflects the clear direction of practical training and military civilian joint education, which is conducive to promoting technical exchange and integrated development of military civilian equipment maintenance and support units, and helping to build the military civilian equipment maintenance and support system and enhance capabilities.
