The Hong Kong Trade Development Council announced on the 31st that the 8th the Belt and Road Summit Forum jointly organized by the Hong Kong SAR Government and the Council will be held in Hong Kong from September 13 to 14. This forum will also add a Middle East special session. The 8th "the Belt and Road" Summit Forum, with the theme of "Hand in hand for ten years to build a win-win situation", will bring together about 80 key officials and business leaders from countries and regions along the "the Belt and Road" and related countries and regions to review the experience of the "the Belt and Road" initiative in the past decade and look forward to future business opportunities. It is reported that the forum activities include policy dialogue sessions, main forums, thematic group forums, and investment project introductions. Among them, the theme of the main forum is "Hong Kong promotes the co construction of the the Belt and Road business cooperation", and participants will discuss how the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area can promote the development of the "the Belt and Road" initiative. In addition, the new Middle East special session this year will focus on the new opportunities of the Middle East market under the "the Belt and Road" initiative. Qiu Yinghua, Director of the Bureau of Commerce and Economic Development of the SAR Government, said at the press conference that this year is the tenth anniversary of the the Belt and Road Initiative. The SAR Government hopes that through the forum, we can better understand Hong Kong's role in the the Belt and Road Initiative, and create more business opportunities for enterprises along the the Belt and Road, especially in emerging markets such as ASEAN and the Middle East. Lin Jianyue, Chairman of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, said at the press conference that since the the Belt and Road Summit Forum was held for the first time in 2016, it has become one of the important business platforms to discuss the policies and opportunities of the the Belt and Road and promote substantive cooperation.
