The 23rd meeting of the Guangdong Hong Kong Joint Conference on Cooperation was held in Hong Kong on the 21st. The two sides conducted in-depth exchanges and reached a series of cooperation intentions around the theme of "deepening practical and efficient cooperation in various fields between Guangdong and Hong Kong, promoting high-quality development in the Greater Bay Area of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao.". This is the first time that a joint meeting on Guangdong Hong Kong cooperation has been held in physical form since Hong Kong and the mainland fully resumed customs clearance. Li Jiachao, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and Wang Weizhong, Governor of Guangdong Province, co chaired the meeting. Yang Wanming, Deputy Director of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council, and Yin Zonghua, Deputy Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, attended the meeting as special guests. The governments of Guangdong and Hong Kong have agreed to continue to steadily promote exchanges and cooperation in areas such as innovation and technology, financial services, development of the northern metropolitan area, trade and investment promotion, cross-border transportation and logistics, talent, health care, education, culture, youth development, and civil service exchanges. After the meeting, the two sides signed a series of cooperation documents such as the "Guangdong Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Exchange Cooperation Agreement", the "Guangdong Hong Kong Smart City Cluster Cooperation Agreement", the "Agreement on Deepening Guangdong Hong Kong Financial Cooperation", the "Guangdong Hong Kong Labor Supervision Exchange and Training Cooperation Mechanism Agreement", and the "Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area Drug and Medical Device Safety Supervision Cooperation Memorandum".
